Lok Virsa mak­ing mea­sures to ex­plore cul­tural her­itage

IS­LAM­ABAD—Lok Virsa Her­itage Li­brary is mak­ing solid mea­sures to ex­plore the coun­try’s rich cul­tural her­itage by pro­mot­ing re­search work on its dif­fer­ent di­men­sion. “The Her­itage Li­brary has a col­lec­tion of over 32,000 books and jour­nals and the col­lec­tion could help a great deal in ex­plor­ing dif­fer­ent cul­tural as­pects,” Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor Lok Virsa Dr. Fouzia Saeed told APP.

She said nu­mer­ous manuscripts, orig­i­nal re­search re­ports, field sur­veys and mono­graphs on Pak­istani cul­ture are ac­ces­si­ble to any one. She said that the Li­brary is a typ­i­cal since it is with a high con­cen­tra­tion of books, jour­nals, manuscripts and field re­ports per­tain­ing to coun­try folk­lore, eth­nol­ogy, cul­tural an­thro­pol­ogy, art his­tory and craft.—APP
