JKSM hosts func­tion for fam­ily mem­bers of mar­tyrs

SRINAGAR—The Jammu and Kash­mir Sal­va­tion Move­ment or­ga­nized a func­tion in Srinagar, to­day, in honor of fam­ily mem­bers of mar­tyrs, vic­tims of In­dian op­pres­sion, po­lit­i­cal de­tainees and rel­a­tives of per­sons sub­jected to cus­to­dial dis­ap­pear­ance by In­dian troops.

Hun­dreds of peo­ple in­clud­ing the par­ents, chil­dren and wives of mar­tyrs, po­lit­i­cal de­tainees and dis­ap­peared Kash­miris at­tended the func­tion, which was presided over by the JKSM Chair­man, Za­far Ak­bar Butt.

The event started with the recita­tion of the holy Qu­ran.

Lead­ers and ac­tivists of the party in­clud­ing Ab­dul Rauf Khan, Zul­fikar Hameed, Molvi Rafiq and Rukaya Baji were present in the func­tion.

Rich trib­utes were paid to the Kash­miri mar­tyrs who had laid down their lives for the free­dom of Kash­mir. Those lan­guish­ing in jails were also re­mem­bered.

Eid gifts and food pack­ets were dis­trib­uted among the fam­ily mem­bers of the mar­tyrs.

Spe­cial prayers were also held for the early re­lease of de­tainees and free­dom of Kash­mir from In­dian yoke.—KMS
