Ghaz­an­far qual­i­fies FIH Level IV coach

PESHAWAR —Pak­istan’s for­mer cap­tain Rana Ghaz­an­far has re­cently qual­i­fied as the FIH Level IV coach.

The course was run on the side­lines of the Cham­pi­ons Tro­phy in London. He is the only Asian in his course to get the hon­our. Ghaz­an­far, who played for Pak­istan from 2000 to 2008, in­clud­ing two Olympics and two World Cups, is liv­ing in Eng­land for quite some time. He has re­mained as­so­ci­ated with the na­tional league club Dee­side Ram­blers as a player and coach for many years.

He is presently as­sist­ing Tahir Za­man, the Pak­istan ju­nior team’s coach, as the fit­ness trainer and nutri­tion­ist.

Ghaz­an­far is also a qual­i­fied fit­ness coach and has done mod­ules in nu­tri­tion. Tahir Za­man ac­knowl­edged his con­tri­bu­tion in Pak­istan team get­ting se­cond po­si­tion at the Ju­nior Asia Cup in Malaysia, a few months back.—APP
