Khat­tak wants 100pc fa­cil­i­ties at hos­pi­tals

PESHAWAR—Chief Min­is­ter Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khat­tak has di­rected the au­thor­i­ties con­cerned to en­sure hun­dred per­cent pro­vi­sion of staff and ma­chin­ery in all the hos­pi­tals in or­der to pro­vide ef­fi­cient health ser­vices to the com­mon man.

He was ad­dress­ing 3rd stock take meet­ing on health depart­ment, here at CM Sec­re­tar­iat Peshawar. Se­nior Pro­vin­cial Min­is­ter for Health Shahram Tarakai, Chief Sec­re­tary Am­jad Ali Khan, Ad­di­tional Chief Sec­re­tary Azam Khan, Ad­min­is­tra­tive sec­re­taries of con­cerned de­part­ments and other con­cerned au­thor­i­ties at­tended the meet­ing.

The meet­ing was briefed about the cur­rent sta­tus of key ac­tions in health depart­ment. The meet­ing was told that ini­tia­tives were un­der­way to over­come the shortage of staff and ma­chin­ery in hos­pi­tals. It was told that 337 doc­tors have been re­cruited through pub­lic ser­vice com­mis­sion and place­ment was be­ing done.

While 77 con­trac­tual doc­tors are reg­u­lar­ized and posted. More­over, 1069 med­i­cal of­fi­cers and 62 po­si­tions of den­tal sur­geons have also been ad­ver­tised by pub­lic ser­vice com­mis­sion. While se­lec­tion of 1100 med­i­cal of­fi­cers on ad­hoc ba­sis was in progress and merit list was be­ing com­piled. On the other hand, 132 po­si­tions of nurses have also been filled. While 277 va­cant po­si­tions of nurses have been re-ad­ver­tised and short list­ing was be­ing done.

The CM said that he will per­son­ally visit the hos­pi­tals very soon to check the ser­vices delivery. Sim­i­larly he di­rected to no­tify health man­age­ment com­mit­tees for DHQs along with ToRs af­ter tak­ing ap­proval in prin­ci­pal.
