Khattak wants 100pc facilities at hospitals
PESHAWAR—Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed the authorities concerned to ensure hundred percent provision of staff and machinery in all the hospitals in order to provide efficient health services to the common man.
He was addressing 3rd stock take meeting on health department, here at CM Secretariat Peshawar. Senior Provincial Minister for Health Shahram Tarakai, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Azam Khan, Administrative secretaries of concerned departments and other concerned authorities attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed about the current status of key actions in health department. The meeting was told that initiatives were underway to overcome the shortage of staff and machinery in hospitals. It was told that 337 doctors have been recruited through public service commission and placement was being done.
While 77 contractual doctors are regularized and posted. Moreover, 1069 medical officers and 62 positions of dental surgeons have also been advertised by public service commission. While selection of 1100 medical officers on adhoc basis was in progress and merit list was being compiled. On the other hand, 132 positions of nurses have also been filled. While 277 vacant positions of nurses have been re-advertised and short listing was being done.
The CM said that he will personally visit the hospitals very soon to check the services delivery. Similarly he directed to notify health management committees for DHQs along with ToRs after taking approval in principal.
