KP releases Rs7204m to local governments
PESHAWAR —Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has released colossal amount of Rs.7204.00 million to the three tiers of local government viz district, Tehsil/ Town and village/Neighborhood Councils of first quarter for developmental purpose with start of the new financial year from July 1.
Finance Department through three separate notifications issued here on Friday, released a major chunk of Rs. 2783.65 million to the village and Neighborhood Councils while districts (account IV) and Tehsil/ Town Administrations (Account I) have been issued Rs. 2210.00 million each.
It is worth mentioning that finance department has released all grants to the three tiers of local government for the first quarter under Provincial Finance Commission (PFC) without discrimination and funds of any area of council have not been delayed even in case of any political or administrative problems there so that developmental process could not be hampered there and people get developmental and municipal service without any hurdles.
Meanwhile, KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said has eulogized performance of Finance department for timely release of developmental funds to the districts, TMAs and Village/Neighborhood Councils for the first quarter.
He appreciated role of finance secretary additional secretaries and section/budget officers in this regard and expressed the confidence all the sections of the department would continue to perform better and release development funds well in time.
