OIC shocked over Kabul terror attack
JEDDAH—The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack that targeted a convoy of police personnel outside the capital of the Republic of Afghanistan, Kabul, leading to the death of at least forty police officers and injury of many more others.
In expressing his sadness over the incident, the OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani stated that the attack will not affect the resolve of the people and the government of the Republic of Afghanistan in their efforts to fight terrorism and unify the country.
He said the scourge of terrorism confronting communities all over the globe must be eliminated.
The Secretary General expressed his condolences to the Government of the Republic of Afghanistan and to the families of the victims and wished the wounded fast recovery from their injuries.
The Secretary General reiterated OIC’s firm position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, calling again for concerted collective international efforts to defeat this scourge.—Email
