Rob­bers loot 2 kg gold, Rs 700,000 cash

RAWALPINDI—Two kilo­grams gold worth over Rs 10 mil­lion, Rs 700,000 cash and other items were looted at gun point from a jew­el­ers house here on Fri­day.

Zain ul Haq, the owner of a jew­ellery shop in Sarafa Bazaar told the po­lice that he had brought two kg gold to his home due to weekly off when four armed rob­bers en­tered his house in Lane 7 in the ju­ris­dic­tion of Westridge po­lice sta­tion and looted the gold, cash and other items and man­aged to es­cape from the scene.

The rob­bers also tor­tured the women. No case has been reg­is­tered till fil­ing of this re­port. The Po­lice in­formed that fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion is un­der­way.

Mean­while, in another rob­bery com­mit­ted in ‘Sa­ham’ area in the ju­ris­dic­tion of Naseer­abad po­lice, a young boy was killed as the rob­bers opened fire when he re­sisted the snatch­ing of cash and mo­bile phone. The rob­bers af­ter com­mit­ting the crime man­aged to flee.—APP Noorani Qaidaas
