Rs 350m ap­proved for Si­hala over­head bridge

IS­LAM­ABAD—The gov­ern­ment of Pun­jab has ap­proved Rs 350 mil­lion for the con­struc­tion of over­head bridge at Si­hala Rail­way cross­ing where traf­fic daily re­mains clogged for hours due to trains’ move­ments. The com­muters of Kahuta-Kash­mir road and res­i­dents of Si­hala and ad­join­ing ar­eas would soon have a sigh of re­lief af­ter the com­ple­tion of the project as they have been de­mand­ing it over the years.

Ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial of Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment,”Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif has sought fea­si­bil­ity re­port for the ap­proval of the project and the con­cern depart­ment is al­ready work­ing on this task. He said the bridge’s length would be 16000 RFT which would ease traf­fic mess at the Rail­ways cross­ing that rea­mains clogged for hours dur­ing the trains’ up and down movem­nent and com­muters have to go through men­tal agony daily.—APP
