Ebad for timely completion of development projects
KARACHI—Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that timely completion with utmost standards was necessary to ensure maximum benefits of development projects to the masses.
This he stated while talking with Major General Muhammad Afzal, Director General Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) here on Friday at Governor House.
Ebad pointed out that FWO was working on many projects of the province which include Lyari Express Way (LEW), Karachi Hyderabad Motorway (M9) and K-4 water supply project.
He said that the second track of LEW must be completed by the end of this year so as to facilitate Karachiites. This project has already been delayed for a long time and initiation of construction work on north bound track after a gap of eight years, it is hoped that it would be completed by December this year, he added.
Governor Sindh lauded the speedy construction work on 136 KM long M9 project and said that with its completion residents of both cities would benefit from state of the art traveling facilities.
While highlighting the importance of K-IV water supply project, he stated that it was a vital project with regards to overcome the shortage of potable water to Karachiites. KW&SB have already been directed to ensure judicious supply of available drinking water to all localities of city and also take measures to control leakages, theft from its lines and action against illegal hydrants.
The DG FWO Maj. General Muhammad Afzal informed Governor Sindh about the pace of work of various projects. He pledged to take every step for completion of north bound track of LEW by the end of this year.
