Angry mob sets ablaze 2 dacoits

Pakistan Observer - - INTERNATIONAL -

OBSERVER REPORT KARACHI —Locals belonging to Karachi’s area of Korangi on Saturday set ablaze two dacoits who shot a citizen and injured him.

Initially, the two dacoits were tortured by the angry mob and were then set on fire.

The dacoits tried to enter a shop belonging to a person named Ahmed who tried to stop their attempt from looting him.

The dacoits shot Ahmed and injured him. Both of the culprits were caught red handed by people near the shop who were furious over the incident.

The bodies of both the dacoits were partially burnt after the mob set them on fire. Police arrived just in time to save their lives and transferred them to a hospital.

Citizens stated that police has failed to curb street crimes hence the locals had to deal with the situation on their own.

There seems a tendency of general public in this part of Karachi to take the law into their hands. On May 3, 2015, an infuriated mob burnt two suspected robbers alive who had gunned down in the same locality for killing a policeman.

The official of Anti-Car Lifting Cell was on his way to home in Korangi no. 2 area when three robbers intercepted him and tried to rob him. The ACLC official shot and injured two of the robbers. The cop also sustained bullet wounds in an exchange of gunfire with the culprits.
