Sup­pres­sion will pro­mote vi­o­lence in IOK, warns Ma­lik

Move­ment (JKSM) Chair­man, Za­far Ak­bar Butt in Srinagar, to­day, and ar­rested him.

The JKSM in a state­ment is­sued in Srinagar said that po­lice raided the res­i­dence of party chair­man at around 5:00 am in the morn­ing and took him along.

“From po­lice sta­tion Sadar he was shifted to an un­known place,” the spokesman said.—KMS SRINAGAR—The Jammu and Kash­mir Lib­er­a­tion Front Chair­man, Muham­mad Yasin Ma­lik has warned In­dia and its pup­pet au­thor­i­ties that sup­press­ing pro-free­dom move­ment by force will only pro­mote vi­o­lence in the ter­ri­tory.

Muham­mad Yasin Ma­lik ad­dress­ing a huge gath­er­ing at Chrar-e-Sha­reef said that pup­pet Chief Min­is­ter Me­hbooba Mufti who had se­lec­tively in­voked Is­lam to crit­i­cize the re­cent at­tacks can­not be­fool pro-free­dom and po­lit­i­cally-ma­ture peo­ple of Kash­mir who are aware of the fact that Me­hbooba Mufti as the head of In­dia’s Uni­fied Com­mand Coun­cil in Kash­mir, over­sees all mil­i­tary and para­mil­i­tary forces in Kash­mir.Thou­sands of peo­ple who at­tended the gath­er­ing raised slo­gans in fa­vor of lib­er­a­tion of Kash­mir and Pales­tine.

“When Kash­miri youth are shot dead or tor­tured by In­dian forces, Me­hbooba Mufti, the civil­ian façade of In­dia’s mil­i­tary con­trol in Kash­mir, con­ve­niently chooses to for­get Is­lamic ethics,” he said, adding that peo­ple of Jammu Kash­mir would not re­main silent on ha­rass­ment of Mus­lims in Jammu divi­sion, con­spir­a­to­rial de­signs to al­ter the de­mog­ra­phy of Kash­mir and change the Mus­lim ma­jor­ity char­ac­ter of Jammu Kash­mir, promotion of re­li­gious dis­cord by con­struct­ing town­ships for Kash­miri Pan­dits, planned es­tab­lish­ment of colonies for In­dian sol­diers, hideous plan to im­ple­ment New In­dus­trial Pol­icy, and threats to re­li­gious schol­ars of Jammu Kash­mir.—KMS
