PIEDMC to set up int’l ap­parel univer­sity

SALIM AHMED LA­HORE—The Pun­jab In­dus­trial Es­tates De­vel­op­ment and Man­age­ment Com­pany (PIEDMC) will set up a state-of-the-art in­ter­na­tional ap­parel univer­sity to im­part vo­ca­tional train­ing to the labour for Quaid-e-Azam Ap­parel Park.

Ac­cord­ing to PIEDMC Chair­man Ma­lik Tahir Javaid, the 1536-acre Quaid-e-Azam Ap­parel Park, sit­u­ated at the La­hore-Sheikhupura Mo­tor­way, will be a hub of in­dus­trial ac­tiv­i­ties and this univer­sity would im­part train­ing to Pak­istani labour, in­sti­tu­tions and var­i­ous in­dus­trial dis­ci­plines through train­ing cour­ses. Two lead­ing Chi­nese uni­ver­si­ties, in­clud­ing Bei­jing In­sti­tute of Fashion Tech­nol­ogy and Tian­jin Ploy Technique Univer­sity, would pro­vide as­sis­tance in set­ting up the ap­parel univer­sity, he said.
