LAHORE— Min­is­ter for Hu­man Rights and Mi­nori­ties Af­fairs Khalil Tahir Sindhu on Sun­day said that Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad She­hbaz Sharif was tak­ing ev­ery pos­si­ble step for pro­tec­tion of mi­nori­ties’ rights. He ex­pressed these views while pre­sid­ing over a meet­ing on se­cu­rity ar­range­ments of re­li­gious places of mi­nori­ties across the prov­ince. He said that he would dis­cuss with district, lo­cal ad­min­is­tra­tion and po­lice to im­prove and dig­i­tal­ize the se­cu­rity sys­tem of re­li­gious places of mi­nori­ties. He said that hard work­ing and brave po­lice­men were pride for Pun­jab Po­lice and in spite of fast­ing and warm weather po­lice had per­formed their du­ties in an ap­pre­ci­at­ing man­ner. He ap­pre­ci­ated the per­for­mance of Pun­jab Po­lice dur­ing the holy month of Ra­mazan. He said that he him­self would visit var­i­ous dis­tricts to mon­i­tor the ar­range­ments for se­cu­rity of re­li­gious places. He fur­ther said the Pun­jab gov­ern­ment had al­lo­cated a huge amount for im­prove­ment of law and or­der sit­u­a­tion across the prov­ince, in cur­rent fis­cal year. He said that Safe City project would help im­prov­ing law and or­der sit­u­a­tion in big cities. He paid spe­cial thanks on be­half of all Mi­nori­ties Com­mu­nity to IG Pun­jab Po­lice and Home Sec­re­tary Pun­jab for their full co­op­er­a­tion. Min­is­ter said that a Task Force on Hu­man Rights at pro­vin­cial and district Level would be es­tab­lished soon, which would help ex­pand the net­work of the de­part­ment at grass root level.—APP
