Rain, thundershowers with isolated heavy falls likely
ISLAMABAD — Rain/ dust thunder showers with isolated heavy falls accompanied by windstorm are expected in scattered places of upper region of the country during next 24 hours.
Rainfall is forecast at Islamabad, Upper Punjab at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, upper KP at Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions, Kashmir at Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Poonch divisions, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, North and South Waziristan Agencies, while at isolated places in Multan, D.G. Khan, Bannu, D.I Khan divisions and GilgitBaltistan.
Heat low lies over North Balochistan with its trough extending southeastwards. Monsoon currents are penetrating in central and upper parts of the country. A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Thursday, on official of Met office told APP.
In last 24 hours widespread rain/dust-thundershowers occurred in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Islamabad while isolated places of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was Mianwali 90mm, M.B. Din 35mm, Multan 34mm, Bahawalpur (city 34mm, A/P 13mm), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 28mm, Chaklala, Bokra 15mm), Islamabad (Golra, Saidpur 27mm, Z.P. 14mm), Bhakkar 26mm, Jhelum 20mm, Layyah 14mm, Lahore (PBO 08mm, A/ P 03mm), Kot Addu 06mm, Bahawalnagar, Murree 04mm, Jhang.—APP
