Rain, thun­der­show­ers with iso­lated heavy falls likely

ISLAMABAD — Rain/ dust thun­der show­ers with iso­lated heavy falls ac­com­pa­nied by wind­storm are ex­pected in scat­tered places of up­per re­gion of the coun­try dur­ing next 24 hours.

Rain­fall is forecast at Islamabad, Up­per Pun­jab at Rawalpindi, Gu­jran­wala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisal­abad di­vi­sions, up­per KP at Malakand, Hazara, Pe­shawar, Mar­dan, Ko­hat di­vi­sions, Kash­mir at Muzaf­farabad, Mir­pur, Poonch di­vi­sions, Kur­ram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khy­ber, Orakzai, North and South Waziris­tan Agen­cies, while at iso­lated places in Mul­tan, D.G. Khan, Bannu, D.I Khan di­vi­sions and Gil­gitBaltistan.

Heat low lies over North Balochis­tan with its trough ex­tend­ing south­east­wards. Mon­soon cur­rents are pen­e­trat­ing in cen­tral and up­per parts of the coun­try. A fresh west­erly wave is af­fect­ing up­per parts of the coun­try and likely to per­sist till Thurs­day, on of­fi­cial of Met of­fice told APP.

In last 24 hours wide­spread rain/dust-thun­der­show­ers oc­curred in Pun­jab, Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa, Kash­mir and Islamabad while iso­lated places of Gil­git-Baltistan.

Rain­fall recorded dur­ing this time span was Mian­wali 90mm, M.B. Din 35mm, Mul­tan 34mm, Ba­hawalpur (city 34mm, A/P 13mm), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 28mm, Chak­lala, Bokra 15mm), Islamabad (Golra, Said­pur 27mm, Z.P. 14mm), Bhakkar 26mm, Jhelum 20mm, Layyah 14mm, Lahore (PBO 08mm, A/ P 03mm), Kot Addu 06mm, Ba­hawal­na­gar, Mur­ree 04mm, Jhang.—APP
