Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL - ABDUL KHALIQ QURESHI ABBOTTABAD

—Numbers of dacoits, theft and abduction cases are on the rise in Abbottabad city for the last one-week with no headway in recovery or arrest of the culprits which had created fear, tense and panic like situation among citizens.

Police fails to arrest culprits involved in dacoit on Thandiyani road two days back where four armed dacoits has looted at least 20 vehicles just before iftari where most of the victims were local residents who were going back to their villages, some of them were passengers coming back from Karachi and other parts of the country to celebrate the Eidul Fitr. Few victims had told that they had just drawn their salaries and were coming back to home. According to reports, dacoits had done all for blocking the road for more than one hour and had looted cash, mobile phones and ornaments from ladies also. Four vehicles of tourists were also looted. Case was registered with Nawanshehr police station but no progress has been shown.
