Traffic rules and road accidents

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - MOHSIN AZEEM

As compare to any other problem of Karachi, traffic rules and road accidents are also a very alarming and dangerous problem of this mega city. Most of these accidents are caused because of public transport and due to care-free driving of young generation.

These road accidents are happening because majority of drivers are unaware of basic rules of driving. Another major reason is that mostly drivers of public transport are harsh, uneducated and totally unaware of basic traffic rules and regulations. Fitness certificates are issued to faulty vehicles without any test.

A faulty vehicle, with unsatisfactory running and operating condition, in hands of an inexperienced driver, is nothing but a public menace and is like a mobile death roaming on the roads. The said problem needs urgent attention, which causes heavy loss of precious lives. I hope that authorities will take a solid action to solve highlighted problem. — Karachi
