DIG Motorway warns of stern action against overloading
ISLAMABAD—Stern action would be taken against overcharging and overloading by the transporter during Eid-ul-Fitr days, DIG Motorway Police North Zone Ashraf Zubair Saddiqi said.
He directed field staff to ensure surprise checking of public service vehicles at various places especially at toll plazas.The staff has also been asked to assure on spot return of overcharged fare and impose heavy on fleecing transporters.
DIG asked passengers to cooperate with Motorway Police and inform on Help Line 130 if any transporter charge extra fare or misbehave with them.
DIG directed to ensure free flow of traffic to enable road users to reach their native homes safely to commemorate this holy event with their loving ones.
He directed deploying special squads to stop miscreants and control crimes during Eid-ul-Fitr days, as most of the people carry valuables while traveling on G.T Road.
DIG directed the concerned staff to visit various bus terminals and warn transporters strict action against overcharching and overloading. Besides, warning banners should also be erected in bus terminals containing messages of consequences of overcharging and overloading.—APP Zamong Kor
