DIG Mo­tor­way warns of stern ac­tion against over­load­ing

ISLAMABAD—Stern ac­tion would be taken against over­charg­ing and over­load­ing by the trans­porter dur­ing Eid-ul-Fitr days, DIG Mo­tor­way Po­lice North Zone Ashraf Zubair Sad­diqi said.

He di­rected field staff to en­sure sur­prise check­ing of pub­lic ser­vice ve­hi­cles at var­i­ous places es­pe­cially at toll plazas.The staff has also been asked to as­sure on spot re­turn of over­charged fare and im­pose heavy on fleec­ing trans­porters.

DIG asked pas­sen­gers to co­op­er­ate with Mo­tor­way Po­lice and in­form on Help Line 130 if any trans­porter charge ex­tra fare or mis­be­have with them.

DIG di­rected to en­sure free flow of traf­fic to en­able road users to reach their na­tive homes safely to com­mem­o­rate this holy event with their lov­ing ones.

He di­rected de­ploy­ing spe­cial squads to stop mis­cre­ants and con­trol crimes dur­ing Eid-ul-Fitr days, as most of the peo­ple carry valu­ables while trav­el­ing on G.T Road.

DIG di­rected the con­cerned staff to visit var­i­ous bus ter­mi­nals and warn trans­porters strict ac­tion against over­charch­ing and over­load­ing. Be­sides, warn­ing ban­ners should also be erected in bus ter­mi­nals con­tain­ing mes­sages of con­se­quences of over­charg­ing and over­load­ing.—APP Za­mong Kor
