Kash­miris warned of In­dia’s anti-Kash­mir de­signs

SRINAGAR—The Chair­man of Hur­riyet fo­rum, Mir­waiz Umar Fa­rooq, and the Chief of Jammu and Kash­mir Lib­er­a­tion Front, Muham­mad Yasin Ma­lik, have urged the Kash­miri peo­ple to re­main cau­tious of the anti-Kash­mir de­signs of RSS-backed PDPBJP regime in the ter­ri­tory.

Mir­waiz Umar Fa­rooq and Muham­mad Yasin Ma­lik were ad­dress­ing an If­taar party or­gan­ised by the JKLF at Band in Srinagar, yes­ter­day.

They said that the Hur­riyet or­ga­ni­za­tions would jointly re­sist New Delhi’s plans of set­ting up colonies for re­tired In­dian sol­diers, sep­a­rate town­ships for Kash­miri Pan­dits and the so-called Kash­mir In­dus­trial Pol­icy in the ter­ri­tory. They also con­demned the ar­rest spree, noc­tur­nal raids, search op­er­a­tions and re­stric­tions by In­dia in oc­cu­pied Kash­mir.

The event was at­tended by rep­re­sen­ta­tives of var­i­ous re­li­gious par­ties, civil so­ci­ety and trade bod­ies, jour­nal­ists and hu­man rights ac­tivists.

The All Par­ties Hur­riyet Con­fer­ence Chair­man, Syed Ali Gilani, could not par­tic­i­pate in the func­tion due to con­tin­ued house ar­rest. Other speak­ers on the oc­ca­sion hailed the joint protest pro­grams be­ing an­nounced by the Hur­riyet lead­er­ship against the anti-Kash­mir moves of In­dian gov­ern­ment.—KMS
