IGP for pre­par­ing Eid-ul-Fitr se­cu­rity plan

KARACHI—The In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has called for chalk­ing out a con­tin­gency plan for Eid-ul-Fitr.

He is­sued the di­rec­tive here on Sun­day that a fool-proof Eid se­cu­rity plan should be pre­pared keep­ing in view the law and or­der sit­u­a­tion as well as the se­cu­rity strat­egy.

The IGP di­rected that in col­lab­o­ra­tion and co­or­di­na­tion with the other law en­force­ment agen­cies (LEAs) com­pre­hen­sive se­cu­rity mea­sures should be taken for Eid con­gre­ga­tions, mosques, imam­barghas, pub­lic places in­clud­ing shop­ping cen­tres, Eid Bachat bazaars, rail­way sta­tions and bus ter­mi­nals.

Ad­e­quate Mo­bile pa­trolling in­clud­ing that on mo­tor­cy­cles should also be en­sured.

The IGP also di­rected that sur­veil­lance teams at po­lice sta­tion lev­els should also be formed.

He also urged that ef­fec­tive mon­i­tor­ing of se­cu­rity ar­range­ments should be en­sured. He said that more such ac­tions are re­quired so that peo­ple could cel­e­brate Eid-ul-Fitr in a peace­ful at­mos­phere.
