SIU Police arrest five dacoits, recover weapons, cars
ISLAMABAD—Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police have busted a gang of dacoits involved in snatching money from people and recovered weapons and two cars bearing fake registration numbers from them, police said.
According to details, SIU team led by SP Investigation Muhammad Ilyas apprehend a gang of five dacoits and recovered four 30 bore pistols along with ammunition, two Corolla cars bearing fake registration numbers and instruments of dacoity from them.
They have been identified as Sooli khan alias Haji, Shakeel Bacha, Haider Khan, Atta ur Rehman and Jamshed Ali.
They used to keep an eye on the people going to bank for drawing money. One member of the gang used to go inside the banks for surveillance and inform the other members of gang outside about the person carrying amount drawn from bank. The gang members used to come to bank on a fake Corolla car and then chased the persons carrying money and looted them at gun point. During preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in various snatching incidents in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Further investigation is underway from them.—APP
