Postgraduate climate change studies in PU on cards
PESHAWAR—The Climate Change Center has moved a proposal for launching of PostGraduate Degree Programme in Climate Change studies at Peshawar University with the objective of holding thorough research in changing weather patterns and for taking adaptation besides mitigating measures.
“The summary has been moved along with curriculum of Climate Change studies to the Academic Council of Peshawar University,” informed Irshad Ali, Deputy Director Communication Climate Change Center Agriculture University Peshawar.
Talking to APP, Irshad Ali said the Climate Change center was set up in Agriculture University with the support of Inter-Cooperation, an NGO, with the objective of providing information about this new phenomena of changing weather.
However, he continued, it has been decided to launch post graduate studies on the subject for holding indepth research in it and finding measures to cope with new trend of weather which is badly affecting agriculture sector of the country.
Irshad informed that after approval from the Academic Council, the summary will move forward to Syndicate of Peshawar University for final approval after which classes will start.—APP
