Abbasi inaugurates BBH’s upgraded OPD
RAWALPINDI—Chairman Pakistan Metro Bus Committee Muhammad Hanif Abbasi Monday inaugurated the newly upgraded Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) at Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion he said the hospital was catering to medical needs of a large population of the city. He said 25 ventilators and 5 ultra-sound machines have been provided to BBH under the Healthy Punjab Programme.
He said Rs 750 million have been spent on the upgradation of new OPD while Rs 1.2 billion has been allocated in the 2016-17 budget for four model hospitals in the city including BBH.
Abbasi said the PML(N) government was expanding the scope of health cover to remote areas in the province. He said Metro Bus project has proved successful and the service was being extended in other cities of the province as well.
Federal State Minister Maryum Aurangzeb, Chairman Board of Management of Allied Hospitals Dr Muhammad Aslam, Principal Dr. Muhammad Umar, MPA Raja Hanif and Zia Ullah Shah were also present on the occasion.
