ANANTNAG (ISLAMABAD)— Government forces on Monday barged into the house of a retired police officer in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and allegedly thrashed the inmates.

Family sources said that forces barged into the house of retired DSP Ghulam Rasool Rather during clashes in Rahmoo village and beat up the inmates.

“Even though I informed Army men that I am a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police and has also got Meritorious Presidential Medal, but they didn’t listen to me and went on rampage. They thrashed me and my children without any provocation. I am aghast.—GK
