Fee collection banned in CMCH
Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Larkana Medical Superintendent Dr Javed Ali Shaikh, in a letter addressed to the Chandka Medical College, said the consultants working under his administrative control were directly admitting patients of their private clinics in their respective wards in the evening and night shifts. He said this was causing hardships for casualty doctors as patients arriving in Accident and Emergency Centre are kept there for want of beds which prolongs their treatment. Dr. Shaikh said during a meeting held in his office recently, all the additional medical superintendents of CMCH complained that consultants working under your control have been admitting their private clinics' patients directly in their respective CMCH Wards in evening and night shifts by writing on their letterheads without any proper OPD slip or observing method. Dr. Javed said they must be instructed to stop this practice, follow the prevailing procedure and route the patients through casualty in future so that deserving poor ailing populace should not suffer. In yet another development, the MS has directed that no User Charges be collected from any patient except the ones allowed by the government for which he issued an office order on Tuesday. Millions of rupees were annually collected in the name of Patients Welfare Fund which were claimed to be utilised on working of the hospital including, stationary, electrical and plumbing works and repair of medical and surgical equipment.
