Why Indian Ads?
Amid escalating tension with India post-Uri attack, Pakistani government banned the screening of Indian films in local theatres and cinema houses. Similarly, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) put several conditions on the airing of Indian content on TV channels. However, it has not taken any action against the airing of Indian ads. Currently, every second commercial being aired in Pakistani media happens to be an Indian ad, which is surprising, as well as indicative of the double standards pursued by PEMRA.
