Amil­i­tary ar­rest of Crim­i­nal Court Chief Judge, Ab­dulla Mo­hamed has led to street protests against Pres­i­dent Nah­seed’s gov­ern­ment. The Pres­i­dent who has de­fended the mil­i­tary ac­tion has pub­licly an­nounced that the Judge was ar­rested on cor­rup­tion charges and is be­ing de­tained in an is­land used by the mil­i­tary to train forces in the In­dian Ocean Ar­chi­pel­ago.
