The

Sher Khan Dry Port in Kun­duz has gen­er­ated Rs. 730 mil­lion rev­enue this year, show­ing an in­crease of Rs.130 mil­lion from last year’s rev­enue. Ad­dress­ing a news con­fer­ence, the Port’s Cus­toms Di­rec­tor, Sha­habud­din Bawar cited bet­ter se­cu­rity, im­prove­ment in the work­ing of cus­toms of­fi­cials and ef­forts at com­bat­ing cor­rup­tion as the rea­sons be­hind the in­creased rev­enue.

Afghanistan’s main ex­ports through the port in­clude ce­ment, su­gar, hand­i­crafts and food items among oth­ers while its im­ports through the port are oil, con­struc­tion ma­te­ri­als and onion.
