Ed­u­ca­tion Ini­tia­tive

The first iS­chool ini­tia­tive in Bhutan was launched at a school in Thim­phu by Prime Min­is­ter Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay. The iS­chool project was launched with the aim to mak­ing qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion ac­ces­si­ble to all stu­dents, in­clud­ing those who be­long to the re­mote ar­eas of Bhutan. Ap­pre­ci­at­ing the ini­tia­tive, PM Ly­onch­hen said that the event is about pri­vate and govern­ment schools, the cor­po­rate sec­tor and the multi­na­tional cor­po­ra­tions work­ing in Bhutan com­ing to­gether and col­lab­o­rat­ing in har­mony.

The project is ex­pected to rev­o­lu­tion­ize the ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem in Bhutan through an ICT-en­abled learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment. It will make qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion ac­ces­si­ble to stu­dents across Bhutan as the ini­tia­tive will be spread through­out the coun­try and stu­dents would be able to in­ter­con­nect and learn from each other.
