TheGover­nor of Afghanistan’s Khost prov­ince, Ab­dul Jab­bar Naeemi has claimed that a large num­ber of families have ar­rived from Pak­istan’s tribal re­gion of North Waziris­tan to south­east­ern Khost af­ter the mil­i­tary op­er­a­tion was launched in the agency. He an­nounced that a camp was set up on 2,000 acres of land for the refugees, who would be pro­vided all es­sen­tial fa­cil­i­ties. Most of the dis­placed families are from Mi­ramshah, the agency’s head­quar­ters where the Pak­istan Army re­cently launched a se­cu­rity op­er­a­tion.

A large num­ber of Pak­ista­nis had set­tled in Gur­baz district, Naeemi said, adding that lo­cal res­i­dents had shared their houses with the refugees.
