Children of War
has awarded educational scholarships to 2,685 children directly impacted by the ongoing conflict in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Armed conflicts in these areas claimed more than 15,000 lives since 2003, leaving behind scores of widowed women and orphaned children. The Conflict Victims Support Program of USAID will provide 4,000 educational scholarships to children who have lost or injured family members due to the conflict.
The program collaborates with Pakistan’s telecom sector for the disbursement of scholarship funding as the grant will be deposited to the mobile accounts of students or their guardians.
