Po­lit­i­cal Train­ing

More than 250 del­e­gates rep­re­sent­ing 75 po­lit­i­cal par­ties from 35 coun­tries at­tended the Eighth Gen­eral Assem­bly of the In­ter­na­tional Con­fer­ence of Asian Po­lit­i­cal Par­ties un­der the pa­tron­age of Pres­i­dent Mahinda Ra­japaksa. This year’s theme was ‘Build­ing an Asian Com­mu­nity’.

The con­fer­ence aimed at pro­mot­ing ex­change and co­op­er­a­tion be­tween po­lit­i­cal par­ties from dif­fer­ent coun­tries with var­i­ous ide­olo­gies to en­hance mu­tual un­der­stand­ing and trust among the Asian coun­tries. The con­fer­ence fo­cused on global, eco­nomic, so­cial, cul­tural and po­lit­i­cal progress of each coun­try.

Launched in Manila, Philip­pines, in 2000, the ICAPP brings to­gether com­pet­ing gov­ern­ing, op­po­si­tion and in­de­pen­dent po­lit­i­cal par­ties.
