Student Voice

Southasia - - BRIEFS -

Astudent at Karachi University’s Mass Communication department has launched a newspaper. The newspaper is called Jhalkiyan. It is bilingual and it talks about what’s happening around in addition to news, articles and advertising jobs for students.

The newspaper content includes current affairs, international news and articles from student writers. Ali Raza – the editor-in-chief –says that the university must equip students with dynamics of of print and electronic media. Currently, the content, distribution and design of the newspaper is done by a team of students from international relations, mass communication and other departments of the university. The newspaper’s main aim is to also inform students about various employment and scholarship opportunities - something about which they are seldom told.
