Mon­soon,

the sea­son of heavy rain dur­ing the sum­mer, now has an at­trac­tion for the In­dian tourism in­dus­try. This is be­cause a large num­ber of lo­cal and for­eign tourists are vis­it­ing the north and south of In­dia to ex­pe­ri­ence the joy of heavy rains and thun­der­storms dur­ing the sea­son. Cash­ing in on mon­soon tourism, the lo­cal in­dus­try has seen over 27% rise in to­tal tourism in the coun­try. Ar­eas like Ra­jasthan, Ker­ala, Megha­laya and Goa have be­come ideal spots for visi­tors look­ing for rain­bows and rain­drops.
