Mo­tor­cy­cle Am­bu­lance

Amo­tor­cy­cle am­bu­lance ser­vice has been launched in Ker­ala state in In­dia. The mo­tor­cy­cle is equipped with a first aid kit and life­sav­ing med­i­cal equip­ment such as au­to­mated ex­ter­nal de­fib­ril­la­tor (AED), pulse oxymeter, oxy­gen cylin­der, BP Ap­pa­ra­tus, glu­come­ter, half spine board, C Col­lar and por­ta­ble suc­tion. The main pur­pose be­hind the in­tro­duc­tion of the two-wheeler am­bu­lance ser­vice is to en­sure im­me­di­ate med­i­cal ac­cess to pa­tients even dur­ing traf­fic jams. The mo­tor­cy­cle am­bu­lance is driven by a trained para­medic while another am­bu­lance-cum-mo­bile ICU fol­lows the mo­tor­cy­cle through­out the jour­ney. The ser­vice is avail­able around the clock and free of cost.
