Un­der the BJP gov­ern­ment headed by Naren­dra Modi, In­dia is fast tran­sit­ing from democ­racy and sec­u­lar­ism to theoc­racy and fas­cism.

It is sad for those who had watched In­dia un­der Jawa­har­lal Nehru and even un­der the BJP gov­ern­ment headed by Atal Bihari Va­j­payee to see the coun­try veer­ing away from the trail blazed by them and sliding from democ­racy and sec­u­lar­ism to fas­cism, fa­nati­cism and theoc­racy.

A sea change has occurred. For peo­ple like Jaswant Singh or L.K. Ad­vani. Now you have Arun Jait­ley, Ra­j­nath Singh and Amit Shah et al, each a ra­bid ex­trem­ist and an ut­ter bigot. Dis­sent is sti­fled, in­tol­er­ance is at an all-time high and peo­ple are killed for at­tempt­ing
