min­istry of in­dus­try and com­merce in Sri Lanka will es­tab­lish a state-of-the-art lab­o­ra­tory to test the qual­ity of pro­cessed food prod­ucts. This is an ini­tia­tive taken un­der the Sri Lanka Food Qual­ity Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion Pro­gram. The food-test­ing lab­o­ra­tory will per­form over 500 tests a month, in­clud­ing shelf-life test­ing and sal­mo­nella and mi­cro­bi­ol­ogy analy­ses. In Sri Lanka, it is manda­tory for lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional food man­u­fac­tur­ers to ob­tain Sri Lanka Stan­dards Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion (SLSC). More than 40 per
