World Bank’s ‘Do­ing Busi­ness 2016’ re­port has ranked Bhutan at the 71st po­si­tion as a busi­ness-friendly coun­try among 189 economies. The re­port says Bhutan is the eas­i­est coun­try to do busi­ness in South Asia. The re­port ranks Bangladesh at 174, Pak­istan at 138, In­dia at 130, Sri Lanka at 107, the Mal­dives at 128, Afghanistan at 177 and Nepal at 99. It takes 15 days to start a busi­ness in Bhutan and less than 61 days to get an elec­tric­ity con­nec­tion. There is fo­cus in the re­port on the reg­u­la­tions and reg­u­la­tory pro­cesses that an en­tre­pre­neur needs be­fore start­ing a busi­ness.
