World Bank’s ‘Doing Business 2016’ report has ranked Bhutan at the 71st position as a business-friendly country among 189 economies. The report says Bhutan is the easiest country to do business in South Asia. The report ranks Bangladesh at 174, Pakistan at 138, India at 130, Sri Lanka at 107, the Maldives at 128, Afghanistan at 177 and Nepal at 99. It takes 15 days to start a business in Bhutan and less than 61 days to get an electricity connection. There is focus in the report on the regulations and regulatory processes that an entrepreneur needs before starting a business.
