According to Global Findex Database, around 9% of men and 2% of women in Pakistan carry out financial transactions by using their mobile phones. India ranks second with only 3% of its male and 1% of its female population moving money through their mobile phones. In 2014, only three per cent of people in South Asia used a mobile phone to send or receive money. The Global Findex is the most comprehensive database that consistently measures people’s use of financial services across different countries.
