Teaching Aid

Southasia - - BRIEFS -

Government of Bangladesh has launched a software programme ‘Screen Readers’ in primary and secondary schools to help blind or visually-impaired teachers to read text displayed on the computer screen. The initiative will enable more than 20,500 secondary and 5,400 primary school teachers to use multimedia and computing skills to make PowerPoint presentations in the classroom. The new teaching method will benefit more than 4 million students across the country. In Bangladesh, there are more than 100 blind and visually-impaired teachers serving at pre-primary, primary and secondary levels.
