RCS2 Tech­nolo­gies, a Sri Lanka-based firm, has in­tro­duced 3D print­ing in Sri Lanka to make the tech­nol­ogy ac­ces­si­ble to the gen­eral pub­lic. Ini­tially, two lines of the fused de­po­si­tion mod­el­ling (FDM) prin­ters have been of­fered along with their ma­te­ri­als, which will be used for dif­fer­ent ed­u­ca­tional, en­gi­neer­ing and in­dus­trial ap­pli­ca­tions. The com­pany has in­tro­duced an in­dus­trial-grade desk­top 3D prin­ter called MAGNUM, which is used in­ter­na­tion­ally for ma­chin­ing, med­i­cal mod­el­ling and ar­chi­tec­tural pur­poses. RCS2 Tech­nolo­gies has also signed an MoU with the Univer­sity of Colombo to de­velop the coun­try’s first multi-headed 3D prin­ter.
