Women En­trepreneurs

The World Bank, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Faisal­abad Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try ( FCCI), is go­ing to launch the Women En­trepreneurs Train­ing Pro­gramme in Faisal­abad. The pro­gramme was ini­tially launched in 2013 and 2014 in Karachi and Is­lam­abad, re­spec­tively, im­part­ing train­ing to more than 300 women en­trepreneurs. It now aims to pro­vide en­trepreneur­ship train­ing to over 400 young busi­ness­women in La­hore, Sialkot and Faisal­abad, the city of tex­tiles. Also re­ferred to as the “Manch­ester of Pak­istan," the city con­trib­utes some 20 per cent to the coun­try’s an­nual GDP.
