About Perry J. Calder­wood, High Com­mis­sioner of Canada in Pak­istan


His Ex­cel­lency Perry Calder­wood is a BA (Hon­ours) in Soviet and East Euro­pean Stud­ies from the Car­leton Univer­sity. He earned his Mas­ter’s in In­ter­na­tional Af­fairs from the same univer­sity in 1986. Af­ter this, he joined the De­part­ment of Ex­ter­nal Af­fairs and was the di­rec­tor for East­ern and South­ern Africa. He was deputy to the per­sonal rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the prime min­is­ter for Africa (2004 to 2007), deputy di­rec­tor of the United Na­tions and Com­mon­wealth Af­fairs Divi­sion (1998 to 2000) and served in the Arms Con­trol and Dis­ar­ma­ment Divi­sion (1989 to 1992). Mr. Clader­wood served overseas at mis­sions in New York City, Bo­gotá, Moscow, Buenos Aires and Pre­to­ria. He was Am­bas­sador in Venezuela (2007 to 2010) and Sene­gal (2010 to 2013). He served as High Com­mis­sioner in Nige­ria (2013 to 2016) and is now Canada’s High Com­mis­sioner in Pak­istan.
