21 years of In­de­pen­dence Turk­menistan

On Oc­to­ber 27, 2012 Turk­men Na­tion cel­e­brates 21st an­niver­sary of In­de­pen­dence with tremen­dous ju­bi­la­tion and fes­tiv­ity falls. Turk­menistan since the In­de­pen­dence in 1991 laid the solid eco­nomic foun­da­tion, by es­tab­lish­ing in­dus­tries such as mod­ern fuel-en­ergy, tex­tile in­dus­try, con­struc­tion in­dus­try, agri­cul­tural, trans­porta­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tion sec­tors. One of the im­por­tant steps in this sphere was the adop­tion by Turk­menistan of The Na­tional Strat­egy called “Strat­egy of eco­nomic and cul­tural devel­op­ment of Turk­menistan un­til 2020” pro­vid­ing for the fur­ther en­hance­ment of peo­ple'swell-be­ing and eco­nomic growth of the coun­try. “THE STATEISFORPEOPLE”

is the motto H.E. Mr. Gur­ban­guly Berdimuhame­dov, Pres­i­dent ofTurk­menistan and it serves as the cen­tral theme of the rad­i­cal re­forms and so­cial in­fra­struc­tures. Un­der the vi­sion­ary and far­sighted lead­er­ship of the Pres­i­dent of Turk­menistan Gur­ban­guly Berdimuhame­dov grandiose re­forms di­rected to di­ver­si­fi­ca­tion of na­tional econ­omy to at­tach an in­no­va­tive char­ac­ter to it are un­der way in the coun­try. In this con­text, re­cently tra­di­tional branches of econ­omy like oil and gas com­plex, power in­dus­try, agri­cul­ture, trans­port and com­mu­ni­ca­tions have con­sid­er­ably devel­oped. Turk­menistan pur­sues the course to es­tab­lish high-per­for­mance, so­cial-ori­ented econ­omy with the devel­oped mar­ket in­sti­tu­tions guar­an­tee­ing eco­nomic and po­lit­i­cal in­de­pen­dence of the coun­try. The main state pri­or­ity is the pro­tec­tion of the in­ter­ests of a per­son, en­sur­ing high in­dexes of the level of the life of the pop­u­la­tion cor­re­spond­ing to the econ­omy o f the devel­oped coun­tries. Turk­menistan has adopted the pol­icy of pro­vid­ing the es­sen­tial ne­ces­si­ties of life such as gas, elec­tric­ity, water, ed­u­ca­tion, med­i­cal ser­vices and other ba­sic fa­cil­i­ties to the whole pop­u­la­tion ab­so­lutely free of cost. It is also en­sured that the Turk­men na­tion gets ben­e­fited from the other fa­cil­i­ties such as ac­com­mo­da­tion, au­to­mo­biles, air and rail­way trans­port at much re­duced rate. Huge por­tion of the state bud­get is al­lo­cated to ac­com­plish the above men­tioned goals and to im­ple­ment the other so­cial re­form pro­grams. Turk­menistan is achiev­ing the eco­nomic ob­jec­tives at very rapid pace; mega projects such as con­struc­tion of world class Hos­pi­tals, In­ter­na­tional stan­dard ed­u­ca­tion in­sti­tu­tions, tex­tile com­plexes, sana­to­ri­ums, health im­prove­ment fa­cil­i­ties, mu­se­ums and dozens of other im­por­tant fa­cil­i­ties sprang up in the cap­i­tal and other
