Kazmi jailed on ju­di­cial re­mand

Hajj corruption case

ISLAMABAD: For­mer min­is­ter for re­li­gious af­fairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi has been sent to jail on 14 days ju­di­cial re­mand in Hajj corruption case.

FIA in its in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­port pre­sented be­fore the court has said Hamid Saeed Kazmi has con­sid­er­ably in­creased his as­sets dur­ing the pe­riod he re­mained min­is­ter.

As per me­dia re­ports Hamid Saeed Kazmi was pro­duced in the court of se­nior civil judge Islamabad Muham­mad As­lam Gon­dal on Wed­nes­day.

FIA said in its re­port on the oc­ca­sion that more 14 plots mea­sur­ing 86 marla owned by Hamid Saeed Kazmi had been traced. These plots were pur­chased at the cost of Rs4 mil- lion in 2008.

FIA had told in its re­port that as­sets of Hamid Saeed Kazmi had been re­mark­ably in­creased and for­mer min­is­ter for re­li­gious af­fairs had hand be­hind the ap­point­ment of Ah­mad Faiz.

Hamid Saeed Kazmi is also de­clared to have been found in­volved in the em­bez­zle­ment of Rs200 mil­lion.

FIA also told that ev­i­dence of in­volve­ment of Hamid Saeed Kazmi in an­other case of Rs200 mil­lion-corruption has been found.

The hear­ing has been ad­journed till April 18. -On­line
