ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah while reiterating full support to supremacy of the Parliament, Constitution and democracy on Friday urged the government not to bow to the illegal demands of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and not to compromise on democracy and the constitution.

Speaking in the National Assembly, he said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and other democratic forces have rendered supreme sacrifices for strengthening democracy in the country and would not allow anyone to derail the system.

"Our Shaheed leaders Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto sacrificed their lives for cause of democracy and we will never compromise on it," he asserted.

Shah said that all political parties and democratic forces were firmly standing with the government for protection of democracy, supremacy of the parliament and the constitution for the first time in the country's history.
