Altaf seeks Army Chief’s help for new prov­inces

LON­DON: MQM chief Altaf Hus­sain ap­pealed that Chief of Army Staff Gen­eral Ra­heel Sharif and Pak-army cre­ate new prov­inces.

Talk­ing to a re­cep­tion-din­ner in hon­our of Na­tional Hockey Team at Lal Qila ground, Az­iz­abad, MQM Chief said that the way army had been fight­ing against the ter­ror­ist menace. Sim­i­larly, it should come for­ward and cre­ate new ad­min­is­tra­tive units to en­hance gov­er­nance, be­cause such thing could not be done by the feu­dal lords and cor­rupt rul­ing elite.

Talk­ing about the sem­i­nary girls of Ba­jour Agency, who were found, be­ing de­tained in a small room in Li­quatabad, Mr. Hus­sain said the mothers and el­ders of Ba­jour Agency un­til these girls were not sent back to their homes, they were his and his party's re­spon­si­bil­ity. He en­sured them, what­so­ever, was pos­si­ble to do for the girls and their fam­i­lies, he and his party would do.

He sternly crit­i­cized Sindh govern­ment, es­pe­cially Chief Min­is­ter Syed Qaim Ali Shah for his neg­li­gence on the is­sue. He said that nei­ther CM Sindh both­ered to take any no­tice about the girls' is­sue nor his min­is­ters vis­ited the un­for­tu­nate girls.

He said that govern­ment's in­dif­fer­ence should be con­demned be­cause it was their re­spon­si­bil­ity to pro­vide re­lief to the peo­ple.
