Delimitation starts in Sindh, Punjab
ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday submitted a report in the Supreme Court on preparations for local bodies elections in Sindh and Punjab.
In its report, the ECP said that in the light of apex court orders the election staff is being trained to carry out electoral delimitation of union councils and wards in Sindh and Punjab.
Apprising the SC of preparations for local government polls, the ECP further said that the training process will conclude in second week of January 2015, adding that committees have been constituted for purchase of material required for delimitation work.
Following legislation in Sindh and Punjab, the ECP has now been empowered to draw new electoral boundaries on UC and ward level. -Online
