ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said there is huge difference in the taxes paid by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

He was responding at a press conference in Islamabad on Friday to the allegations leveled by PTI chief.

Pervaiz Rashid said the Prime Minister paid over two point four billion rupees tax between 2005 and 2014. Imran Khan presented the false figures before the public.

He said according to Federal Bureau of Revenue, the Prime Minister paid over two point six million rupees last year while taxes paid by Imran Khan are even below two hundred thousand rupees.

He said collective taxes paid by the family of the Prime Minister were over five hundred and forty six million rupees, which also include agricultural tax.

Pervaiz Rashid said Imran Khan showed 23 lac and 50 thousand rupees agriculture income, but he refused to pay agriculture tax declaring five lac rupees as his liabilities.

He said Imran Khan's income details also mentioned that he earned 8.44 million rupees through his foreign services. He raised question asking PTI chairman to clarify what services he has been providing to foreign countries.

He said Imran Khan's taxes do not correspond to his income from his property, businesses and agriculture. He said Imran Khan's lifestyle is lavish as he owns three huge residences, while he is paying millions of rupees in terms of his electricity bills, which is more than his total paid taxes.
