LHC moved to try Rashid for treason
LAHORE: A petition was filed to the Lahore High Court ( LHC) on Friday seeking registration of treason case against chief of Awami Muslim League ( AML), Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
According to Media Reports , Imtiaz Ahmed, a common citizen, petitioned the court seeking the seasoned politician's trial for treason blaming him for inciting violence.
The petitioner stated that Sheikh Rashid, an ally of Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf chief Imran Khan, has attempted to harm the country's integrity through his provoking public speeches.
The move comes two days before PTI's Nov 30 rally in Islamabad for which Khan has called his tigers to gather in the federal capital for a decisive showdown. -Online
