Prov­inces told to speed up Nat'l Ac­tion Plan

IS­LAM­ABAD: Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif on Tues­day said the govern­ment is com­mit­ted to erad­i­cate ter­ror­ism and ex­trem­ism from the coun­try and asked other prov­inces to speed up the process of im­ple­ment­ing Na­tional Ac­tion Pro­gram (NAP).

Prime Min­is­ter Muham­mad Nawaz Sharif chaired an im­por­tant meet­ing here today which dis­cussed im­por­tant na­tional is­sues in­clud­ing en­ergy sit­u­a­tion and progress on the im­ple­men­ta­tion of Na­tional Ac­tion Plan to com­bat ter­ror- ism.

The meet­ing was at­tended by Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab Muham­mad Shahbaz Sharif, Min­is­ter for Fi­nance Mr. Muham­mad Ishaq Dar and Min­is­ter for In­te­rior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

The Prime Min­is­ter ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion over the petrol sup­ply sit­u­a­tion in the coun­try and di­rected that all rel­e­vant min­istries and de­part­ments should en­sure seam­less co­or­di­na­tion to avoid such oc­cur­rences in fu­ture.

Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab ap­prised the Prime Min­is­ter of the progress made by the prov­ince in im­ple­ment­ing the Na­tional Ac­tion Plan (NAP).

He said all po­lit­i­cal par­ties unan­i­mously agreed on the 20 points of NAP and it is the re­spon­si­bil­ity of all the fed­er­at­ing units of the coun­try to im­ple­ment it in its let­ter and spirit.
